Once upon a time I had chickens. Six chickens of different breeds, actually two were the same breed. I had researched the chicken breeds I was interested in, but when we visited the local, ethical farm that raised a variety of breeds, they didn’t have any of those breeds so I went with her recommendations.

Maybe you’d like two of these interesting breeds she commented, they are Egyptian and they like to run - sure, I’ll take two. Little did I know that these Egyptian Fayoumi chooks all practice Egyptian chicken magic and have the ability to escape from anything they put their mind to. They also won’t come in when it’s raining and would rather get absolutely soaked.
