My song is "Mayonaise" by Smashing Pumpkins. Something about it opens the door to crying grief tears since I first heard it back in 1993.

The Chemical Brothers are brilliant, their videos are works of art in their own right. I revisit the one for "Let Forever Be" a few times a year.

One of my best friends died in a motorcycle crash years ago. We used to attend this (much) smaller, East Coast version of Burning Man outside of Asheville, NC together. The year he died, our whole burner crew turned the weekend into a kind of grief rave. We danced all night and scattered his ashes in a pond at dawn. A DJ friend had a metal hour (he was big into that), and played Scotland the Brave as the sun came up (he was also big into being a Graham). But the song that brings me back every time is Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Kudi.
