The well at the bottom of the hill
I never heard of a well up there either. There was one in the Vale I think around about where the fountain is now.
It's not a very old well and as it's not on the OS map, you don't know to go looking for it.
How marvelous! I'm so glad you found the well! Is that water drinkable? I haven't yet found a natural source of drinkable water near where I live. Hopefully some day!
Hi, Yes - it's definitely drinkable. There's another spring on the hill that was once named Haly Burn (Holy burn).
